Privacy Policy
Your privacy is fundamental to the architecture of Spaces. As an AI-native workspace, we believe your digital environment should be the most private and secure place you have on the web. Our commitment to transparency means we want you to fully understand what data we handle and how it's used.
Local-First Philosophy
Spaces is built with a local-first architecture. Whenever possible, your data—including your notes, files, and browser history—remains stored locally on your device. This ensures you maintain control and that your most sensitive information never leaves your machine unless necessary for a specific feature you've enabled.
Information We Collect
To provide a seamless, AI-powered experience across your digital life, Spaces handles the following types of information:
- Account Data: We collect your email address when you sign up for an invite or create an account to manage your trial or subscription status.
- Integration Data: If you choose to connect third-party services like Google Drive or Google Calendar, Spaces accesses the metadata and content necessary to integrate these services into your workspace.
- Local & Cloud Content: Spaces indexes the metadata and content of your files, folders, notes, notecards, meeting notes, todos, and reminders to enable unified search and AI assistance.
- Browser & Web Data: We manage your browsing history, bookmarks, and the content of websites you visit within the Spaces environment to provide context-aware AI features.
- AI Interaction History: We store your prompts (the questions you ask) and the resulting AI-generated responses to maintain conversation history and improve the relevance of the agent's assistance.
- Technical Metadata: We generate and store mathematical representations (embeddings) of your data to power advanced search and AI context retrieval. We also collect anonymized performance and stability metrics to help us fix bugs and improve the software.
How We Use Your Data
The primary purpose of data handling in Spaces is to empower you. We use your data to:
- Connect the dots across your disparate apps, files, and notes.
- Provide AI agents with the necessary context to act on your behalf.
- Enable lightning-fast, unified search across your entire digital workspace.
- Optimize system performance and tailor the interface to your workflow.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
Spaces does not sell your data. We only share, transfer, or disclose data when it is necessary to provide features you enable, comply with the law, or protect our users and service.
- Google User Data: If you connect Google services (such as Calendar), we access and process only the data required for the features you use. We do not transfer Google user data to third parties. We only share this data with trusted infrastructure providers (such as AI inference providers) strictly to support the application's functionality, under contracts that prohibit any other use of the data.
- AI Providers: When you invoke AI features, we send the minimum necessary context to cloud LLM providers to generate responses. These providers are contractually restricted from using your data to train their models.
- Legal and Safety: We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, third parties, or Spaces.
Data Protection for Sensitive Data
We apply technical and organizational safeguards to protect sensitive data, including Google user data:
- Encryption in Transit: Data is transmitted using TLS.
- Encryption at Rest: Cloud-stored data is encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers.
- Access Controls: Access is limited to authorized personnel and systems on a need-to-know basis.
- Data Minimization: We collect and process the minimum data required to provide the features you choose to enable.
- Audit and Monitoring: We monitor systems for reliability and security events and investigate anomalies.
AI and Data Privacy
While some AI processing currently requires cloud-based Large Language Models (LLMs), we prioritize your privacy by:
- Using enterprise-grade API agreements that strictly prohibit your data from being used to train foundational AI models.
- Actively developing a future where more AI processing happens locally on your device.
- Ensuring all data transmissions are encrypted and secure.
Your Control
You are in control of your data. You can disconnect integrations, delete your account, or remove local data collections at any time through the application settings.
Updates to This Policy
As Spaces evolves, we may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Spaces' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
